Exporting an animationish file to movie format is needed when wanting to saved your animation so your able to watch it. This is particularly useful for when you in a situation, like the one I'm in, where you need to save you animation every step of the way to put on a blog. the way you do this is by clicking on the TV icon next to the saving icon. This will then take you to a mini screen where there are yellow bubbles with things like quicktime in them. These are different formats that you can save a movie as. The one i always use is the quick time; this is because all the computers i use are able to play quick time movies. the reason you wouldn't put it into quick time format is if your computer wasn't able to play quicktime.
